Data is dead…

Grab a coffee and take a look at the latest edition of PBC Today, our founder Ryan Dempsey discusses the importance of evolving the way information is presented and used in the article “Data is DEAD: The evolution of information in construction”

In the article Ryan explains why title is not 100% reflective of the actual content. It isn’t that data is dead, but more how we use data and where data is presented that is evolving, but in contrast the management choices of utilising the data are stagnated.

Several key things are growing in popularity recently:

  • The value of money over the value of tradespeople or services is inconsistent.
  • Key areas, like compliance, are growing in popularity because of catastrophic events, which are then used to publicly “skills rebalance” the UK’s construction fraternity.
  • Technology makes life easier, but with that comes the resistance to change.

The truth is we need to constantly evolve, one foot in front of the other, one step at a time.
